So when she saw this unknown man's profile flash, she had to wonder. The voice on the loudspeaker said there was a buddy system, right? Maybe this guy was hers. Why else would his profile be flashing, with no else able to see it? That created a big problem. She wasn't going to die, but who knew if this guy had resolve, the proper cutthroat mindset for surviving this game? If he went and got himself killed, that would be the end of her, too.

[ The flashing of this girl's profile is nothing short of a disaster to him. Of course he'd be stuck with someone, have to rest his fate with them, someone he doesn't even know. But the more he thinks of it, the more he realizes this might be a good thing. He hates making decisions on his own, was planning on just using Charles as his deciding factor, but surely they both have the same goals in mind. Well, unless they're on different teams, but that's a worry for later.
